Decent pho and banh mi. Come at the end of the day and the bread may be stale and the lettuce might be a little brown. For those that point out that ”they bake their own bread . . .”, please realize that *baking* bread is only the final step in *making* bread. Baking factory-made bread is nothing to get excited about. I still like the place.
We come here a lot as the price is not bad, especially the "mini menu" (which actually had decent portions). I recommend the beef pho with the lemongrass chicken sandwich (I only get that when I'm really hungry). The pho is solid, but nothing really groundbreaking.
Delicious pho and sandwiches. The French bread is baked fresh every morning. The meat sliced fresh every day.
Amazing food, love the pork sandwich and the beef pho soup is absolutely delicious!
Their bahn mi sandwiches are the best in town. I prefer the lemongrass chicken bahn mi sandwich its delicious
Slow service. Took 25 minutes for 2 sandwiches. But tasted great
Great banh mi, vegetarian options, reasonable prices, and the BEST bread!
Very good pho! I’ve eaten many pho in many restaurants and this one definitely belongs to the best ones! Don’t be afraid from the decoration, just order a pho and enjoy!
The spicy lemon grass chicken sandwich was very delicious. The beef pho was incredible as well. I def recommend this place for a bite. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Give this restaurant a try if you're ever in the area.
Good soups and sandwiches at reasonable prices.easy to bring on your flight home
Excellent sandwiches spring rolls are huge great prices. Definitely recommend this one!
Best food I had in long time on the big island
Solid Vietnamese food served by nice people in a diner type atmosphere. Pho and bánh mì both very good. Five stars even though we've had better Vietnamese food elsewhere but not on the Big Island.
My mom and I would come here for Pho and their egg rolls. We really liked them the first few times we visited. The last time we went the broth was off. It tasted like they used beef bouillon...It was salty and did not have any flavors of pho spices/bone broth. The broth in pho is everything, if it isn't done right then the soup isn't pho. Upside: The customer service is always friendly and attentive.
The BEST sandwiches! Spicy lemongrass chicken sandwich is my favorite! Just wish they had online ordering - or at least a website to see their full menu.
Our chicken pho was delicious! Friendly staff too!
Not fancy, but good pho and I am addicted to the spicy lemongrass chicken banh mi
Best Banh-Mi sandwiches outside of Saigon
Love their spicy lemongrass tofu sandwich on French bread and side pepper satay to compliment my sandwich.
A small sized pho is $13!! and it is super tiny. Super bummed but something in management has definitely changed, prices have gone way up and the portion to price ratio is definitely not worth it. They also charged 50 cents for butter to go with your bread.
They use nothing but single plastic cutlery 👎👎
Tasty and healthy 🤗
Enjoyed a pastrami sandwich on their fresh-baked french roll.
I worked there for 6 mos they were the best boss I ever had the boss had so much compasion when I lost my daughter i really appreciate Phong
Awesome restaurant! I had the BBQ short ribs (kalbi) and my wife had tofu pho. Both were absolutely delicious, generously portioned and priced well. Topped off with friendly staff - I highly recommend!
Best pho on the island I'va had so far 😊🍜
Bahn mi was amazing, friendly staff, fair pricing in a pricey town!
Been eating here for 20 years now. Same owners and the food is so consistent in taste it's really good!!!! BBQ Chicken Sandwich, Beef Pho!! ;)
My go to place for pho noodles and they have banh mi sandwiches in all kinds of flavors. Friendly Wali up counter service and good people. Husband left his wallet on the table and they held it for him. Good comes out fast. I always so in for a meal when on island. Nothing fancy...total casual spot.
The noodle soup is so salty and no taste. 1st time I have Pho with tofu in my life. Never come back
Had the chopped chicken banh mi and the chicken wonton saimin, delicious!
Best bahn me I have ever eaten! The bread here is incredible!
GREAT Pho and Bahn Mi they bake their own bread daily. The Mango Tapioca dessert is real favorite of ours too.
Cheap quick fresh clean and tasty!!
The food is delicious and nutritious!
Nice space, big widows facing parking lot, views of the monkey pod trees and the verdant Western Kona volcanic slope beyond. Good selection of Viet dishes, sandwiches. Vegetarian friendly, but watch for fish sauce! I often get their butter shrimp or spicy tofu rice noodle salad. Seasoning is nicely balanced. I miss the very good Viet chicken curry they used to offer. Their pho broths are one of the better offerings on isle. Bánh mì are very good to excellent. I like their spicy lemongrass chicken sandwich on a French roll.Tables are well spaced and they have their own unisex restroom. Like everywhere, the staff are variable, but the owners are often serving also, so they keep things orderly and helpful. Easy parking.
Seriously the nicest customer service ever! And the food is ono too.
Great beef pho and coconut tapioca pudding!
Good food, good prices, excellent Pho. The Happy Pancakes are crepes, not Bahn Xeo. But they are served in Bahn Xeo style. He bakes his own bread for the Bahn Mi. Definitely worth the stop.
Da BOMB
Great people great pho!Their sandwiches are great too. Ba-Le makes their own French bread.
We loved this place on a recent holiday, easy to find and park and plenty of seating for lots of folks. Good banh mi, very nice bread, worth the extra $ it cost us compared to buying banh mi back in Oz on Oz $ (not great compared to USD...). Enjoyed both pho in house and banh mi take out. Would definitely return if the fates allow us a return trip to the big island!
Very nice in-house baked bread, delicious Bhan-mi.
If you're looking for an authentic Vietnamese food, don't expect that from here. This is a great mix between Vietnamese and local food. Price wise - it's not going to be a cheap bahn mi like the ones you find on the mainland. Ingredients here aren5t as easy to find! The bread is also baked fresh daily. Go for that instead of pho!
I only like the spring rolls with noodles. Teriyaki chicken made me sick a few years back. Their idea of a manapua and mine are very different! I ordered one and it was huge but the filling was gross.
